Biographical Information

As a technology specialist, Tony Vincent created a community of enthusiastic learners at Willowdale Elementary School in Omaha. He developed Learning in Hand, a program that gave every fifth grader at the school a handheld computer, and worked with programmers to develop software specifically designed to help fifth graders learn the curriculum. Through in-service trainings and team-teaching exercises, Vincent empowered his colleagues to effectively integrate technology and the curriculum. He also pioneered blogging and podcasting at his school. In 2006, Vincent left Willowdale to become self-employed, and now devotes his time to helping teachers and students across the globe use today's learning tools. He has inspired educators with presentations and workshops in 40 states, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Canada, Australia, and the U.K. Vincent's expertise was used to co-write Handhelds for Teachers & Administrators, a book about iPods, handheld devices and podcasting. Tony's Web site, learninginhand.com is a popular destinations for those interested in student-centered learning. His podcast, "Learning in Hand," is one of the top educational podcasts on iTunes.
