Comfort Agboola Joins IL Milken Educators

CHICAGO, IL—There's an exciting all-school assembly at Edgar Allan Poe Classical Elementary School, with Illinois State Superintendent of Education Dr. Tony Sanders making a special visit to congratulate students and staff on being named among the top 10% of schools statewide. But is that the only reason? Before long, Dr. Sanders introduces one more special guest, Dr. Jane Foley, senior vice president of the Milken Educator Awards. She turns the presentation on its head with a huge surprise for English language arts, reading and math teacher Comfort Agboola: The sole 2023-24 Illinois recipient of a $25,000 Milken Educator Award. It's an assembly the beloved teacher and her students will remember forever.
