Surprise, Riley Gartland! You're a NJ Milken Educator!

 

 

Dr. Jane Foley, senior vice president of the Milken Educator Awards, and recipient Riley Gartland walk to the teacher's math classroom. Gartland teaches 9th, 11th and 12th graders, and has grown the accelerated calculus program to two full sections, using many hands-on and collaborative activities. Gartland’s leadership extends beyond her classroom to her collaboration with the math department. She shares her data analysis resources with colleagues and helps develop lessons for students to see strong ties to learning standards and consistency across classes.
