Surprise, Meghan Menchella! You're a MO Milken Educator

 

Meghan Menchella catches her breath after her surprise Milken Educator Award celebration. In the social studies teacher's Crestview Middle School classroom, U.S. history comes alive. "Making curriculum hands-on and making it relevant to students is the best way to engage them," Meghan says. She approaches each unit focused on ways to excite Crestview eighth graders, transforming her classroom into a crime scene during a unit on the Boston Massacre and a courtroom to introduce the Salem Witch Trials.
