Ashley Meyer Named 2023-24 AZ Milken Educator

Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Horne is visiting Horizon Honors Elementary School for today's K-6 morning meeting. But there's another big reason for his visit, which comes to light when National Institute for Excellence in Teaching Chief Executive Officer Dr. Joshua Barnett, on behalf of the Milken Family Foundation, takes the stage. Cheers fill the room when Dr. Barnett surprises first and second grade mentor teacher Ashley Meyer with a Milken Educator Award and $25,000! Ms. Meyer is the first recipient from Horizon Honors Schools and the 2,958th recipient surprised as part of the historic journey to our 3,000th Milken Educator.
