Andrew Harrison, You're an AR Milken Educator

 

 

Andrew Harrison makes his way to the front of the room to accept his Milken Educator Award as students, colleagues and guests continue to cheer. At Mayflower High School, Harrison leads by example and is always willing to go above and beyond to grow as an educator and coach. Harrison helps maintain excellence schoolwide as an integral part of the school's Instructional Leadership Team (ILT), built through a partnership with the National Institute for Excellence in Teaching (NIET). He meets weekly with colleagues to analyze student data, develop standards-based success criteria, lead professional development, and apply the strategies right into the classroom. He also supports fellow educators as the leader of a Professional Learning Community (PLC) for physical education, health, social studies teachers and athletic coaches.
