First Grade Teacher Amanda Fair-Coles Wins SC Milken Award

Dover Elementary School has a lot to celebrate. South Carolina Superintendent of Education Ellen Weaver is visiting to commend students and teachers on the school's recent assessment results. But this assembly is about to provide another reason for celebration: National Institute for Excellence in Teaching Chief Executive Officer Dr. Joshua Barnett, is also here, on behalf of the Milken Family Foundation, to surprise one outstanding teacher with a Milken Educator Award! When Amanda Fair-Coles hears her name called as a South Carolina Milken Educator, the first grade teacher gets a life-changing surprise. The outstanding educator is the 2,970th Milken Educator recognized on the journey to our milestone 3,000th Milken Award surprise. Relive her exciting notification in the photos below.
