Happy Holidays from the Milken Family Foundation

Dear Milken Educators and Champions of Education,

We landed in the Pacific Northwest to hand out our last Milken Educator Award before the holidays. Read on to meet this year's Milken Educator from Oregon.

Lisa Richard (OR '16)

Lisa Richard calls husband 1000w

"I will always remember the day my teacher got the Milky Way award!" So said one of Lisa Richard's third-graders after watching Dr. Jane Foley surprise his shocked teacher with Oregon's 2016-17 Milken Educator Award and $25,000 at Pioneer School in Lebanon. Lisa, a former high school dropout who earned her GED at 27, is committed to helping students maximize their potential and preventing anyone from slipping through the cracks. "That is my biggest passion: paying attention to that kid who no one else is," she told The Oregonian in an interview after her notification.
