Biographical Information

John Snyder teaches computer science at Insight School of Nevada, a completely online public charter high school serving the entire state of Nevada, where his specialties include game technology, Web site design, digital photography and video production. "The love of computers is contagious, and I want to teach my students the strange and beautiful things you can do with them," said Snyder. Snyder was named 1990 Nevada Teacher of the Year, and twice received a Christa McAuliffe Fellowship. He also received the "Chasing Rainbows Award," awarded once annually by Dolly Parton to a teacher who has overcome obstacles to pursue a career in education. In April 2007, Snyder was inducted into the National Teachers Hall of Fame.


Personal Message

Creating websites, online education, and creating virtual educational environments are two of my hobbies. If any fellow Milken Educators would like someone to collaborate with to create or update their own websites, or to develop educational simulations, I'd be glad to provide assistance!
