With the COVID-19 pandemic closing schools across the country, we're checking in with Milken Educators to see what's happening in their areas. In the video below, Hailey Couch (OK '18), a kindergarten teacher at Madison Elementary in Norman, talks about how her students and their families are feeling; keeping in touch with her "babies" by reading books aloud on Facebook; and her work with the Oklahoma Play-Based Initiative.

"My district is doing great things," says Hailey. "I am thankful for Superintendent Dr. Nick Migliorino and the administrators of Norman Public Schools, who are keeping us informed as best as possible. We just learned that beginning Wednesday, March 25, free meals will be provided to any child 18 years and younger. The grab-and-go meals will be distributed every weekday between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the car line at every school in the district. We are incredibly thankful our students will be provided with these services. Norman is a strong, resilient community. As Dr. Migliorino reminds us: 'We will get through this together.' "
