Dr. Jennifer Salls (NV '89) passed away on June 22, 2021, at 69 years old. At the time of her Milken Award, Dr. Salls taught math and led the math department at McQueen High School in Reno. During her 45-year career in education, she taught middle school and high school, worked for the Nevada Department of Education, and served on the Board of Directors for the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and as president of the Northern Nevada Mathematics Council. Before her Milken Award, Dr. Salls received the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Teaching for Nevada in 1983 and then nationally in 1984.
