Andrew Franz Wins NY Milken Award in Buffalo

On October 16, 2017, at Hamlin Academy in Buffalo, we surprised special education teacher Andrew Franz with a New York Milken Educator Award. Andrew was completely frozen with shock when Dr. Jane Foley, senior vice president of the Milken Educator Awards, called his name ... and then shock turned to tears of joy. "To see this school’s transformation is an honor," he told his students. "You guys are a piece of my life. You guys are my children."
