Science Star Dan Adler Wins MA Milken Award

Flanked by UP Academy Leonard (UAL) students and Dr. Jane Foley, senior vice president of the Milken Educator Awards, Dan Adler addresses the assembly convened in his honor. The Award, he says, is not about him: "It's the incredible work all the scholars in this building do every day."
An advocate for science whose joy and intensity are infectious, Adler is known for reaching out to UAL’s most at-risk scholars to move them forward. His students are achieving a mastery average above 80 percent on rigorous summative assessments in science, which are linked to Massachusetts state standards.
