Biographical Information

Counselor Norita Espinosa is a proactive force for positive behavior and student success at Walter Bracken Elementary School, an ethnically diverse inner-city school in Las Vegas. She has introduced numerous programs addressing the needs of the school's disadvantaged student population, including empathy training, impulse control and anger management, conflict resolution, and peer mediation. A compassionate and trusted advocate for her students and their families, Mrs. Espinosa manages counseling groups, participates in parent/teacher conferences, helps school families secure community resources and services, and makes presentations on effective parenting. Mrs. Espinosa helped found the Community Partnership for Learning, which brings college tutors to area elementary schools, and she coordinates the school's annual Career Day.
