Biographical Information

Michele Bifelt teaches chemistry and AP chemistry at North Pole High School, where she has been for 6 years. She has also taught biology, life science, physical science, and chem tech at NPH. Her current goal is to make sure that all of her students are well versed in the sciences so that as adults and voters they will make political and life style decisions based on sound scientific data, rather than rumors or blogs. The science department at NPH is currently working on developing formative assessments for essential learnings and Michele is collaborating with other chemistry teachers in the district to develop the assessments for her classes. She also looking forward to retiring in a few years, after more than 35 years of teaching in Alaska.


Personal Message

I would like to correspond with other chemistry teachers who are working on essential learning goals and formative assessments. I feel we are on the right track in the Fairbanks Northstar Borough District, but would appreciate input from other chemistry teachers.
