Jessie Creech, special education resource teacher at Warren Easton Fundamental Senior High School in New Orleans, incorporates brain research, technology, traditional materials and enrichment activities in her standards-based curriculum. Her individualized attention has enabled most of her special education students to make the transition into regular education classes, where she works with the teachers to ensure a smooth transition. Her work has helped Warren Easton Fundamental Senior High School achieve the city's highest graduation rate for students with disabilities. Vice president of the Council for Exceptional Children and an active member of the International Reading Association, Mrs. Creech chairs the School Accountability Team and participates in various other committees at her school, including the School Improvement Team, the Student Assistance Team, and the Staff Development Team.
