Sarah Berndt (WI ’13) was named Graduate of the Last Decade (G.O.L.D.) by Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee. The annual award “honors individuals for their professional and personal achievements, which have made a significant impact in their field, and whose life and character have earned the respect and admiration of their peers and professional colleagues.”

Sarah earned her B.S. in education in 2004. Her first teaching post was at Milwaukee’s Golda Meir School and just three years later, she was named Teacher of the Year by the Metropolitan Milwaukee Alliance of Black School Educators for her work strengthening youth leadership while bringing diverse cultures together. In 2010, she joined the faculty of the city’s Ronald W. Reagan College Preparatory International Baccalaureate High School where she teaches Spanish and IB technology to students in grades 6–9.
